Loser
by Jerry Spinelli
Looser is one of Spinelli’s wonderful works, ranking 4.5 out of five stars for me. The book is about a boy named Donald Zinkoff, who everyone thinks he is a loser. But he does some pretty cool stuff, like scoring the winning goal for his team in first grade. As Zinkoff get older, his life starts getting more shaped up, and hes not that much of a loser. But, he is still a loser in many ways.
Sadly, my favorite part would spoil the book, but heres one of them that wouldn’t: when he hears a “very funny” word that his teacher said, he can’t stop laughing for days. And when he get in trouble for not stopping, he’s PROUD that he got in trouble!
Have you read any of Spinellis books, besides Crash? If you did, did you like that book?
