On Thursday the 11 of September Mrs. Span(the school counselor) walked into the room interrupting our silent sleep of reading. We cleared our desks to listen to the lesson about cooperation. We were asked some questions about leadership and how to work together. After that we were organized into groups.We ended up working with our table groups after a short but endless discussion.
    A cup, lifesaver and gummy worm was placed on our table. We had to use "oars" (toothpicks) to get Fred the gummy worm inside the the lifesaver on top of the boat (cup) to save him from drowning in the"ocean". It really helped us cooperate and work together.

    One day Mrs. Span came with a cup, a gummy worm, and a life saver. She said we need to put Fred (the gummy worm) in to the life preserver (the life saver) and put him on to the boat (the cup) with the ore (the tooth pick).
    So, first my group tried to pull Fred in to the life saver by stabbing him and pulling him through. When that didn't work, three people stretched the life saver while two other people pushed him through

and that worked so we lifted Fred up and put him on the boat.Then Jonah stabbed Fred and knocked him off the boat so we had to put Fred back on the boat. Then my group said finish and the activity was done.

Saving Fred happened in Life Skills on September 11, 2014.  We worked together with the people that sit by us.  I worked with Tudor, Ariana and Asher.  We had a cup which was the boat, we had a gummy worm which was Fred and we had a Lifesaver gummy which was Fred’s floaty.  We also had toothpicks which were ores.

We had to get Fred on the boat (the cup) with his floaty (the Lifesaver gummy) around him without impaling or killing/murdering him.  The same with his floaty.  And we can not break the ore either.

    We did it by having Ariana, Asher and Tudor put ther ore in the middle of the Lifesaver and stretch it.  I balanced Fred on the ore and stuck him through the Lifesaver.  Then we moved him to the top of the boat.  We accomplished the quest! But the hardest part was not eating Fred or the ore...

Last Thursday September 11, the 5th graders in Mrs. Barnes' class had a Life Skills lesson from the guidance counselor, Mrs. Spann. We got to do an activity where we had a plastic cup which was our boat a lifesaver and a gummy worm named Fred and a toothpick which was our oar. Fred and the lifesaver were put under the cup and we had to get Fred out from under the cup and through the lifesaver using ONLY our oars we worked together to save Fred, the goal of the lesson was to build teamwork and cooperation. It was the best Life Skills lesson I have ever had!!!!!!! :)

Saving Fred is a life skills activity,
that we did yesterday with Mrs.Spann.
she gave us a boat(cup) an oar(toothpick)
a lifesaver candy as the well, lifesaver, and a gummy worm named Fred. Each pod had to use the oars to put Fred on top of the boat and get him into the life saver, without touching him or chopping poor Fred in half.
we did this to practice our teamwork and cooperation.

Ms.Spann came on Thursday for life skills we did a activity with are table. It was called Saving Fred we got a cup,life saver, a toothpick and a gummy worm.
We had to work with our group and get the gummy worm in the live saver and the we had to put it on top of the cup but it would been better if we could eat the life saver and the gummy worm.
