STEM Day by wilson and drake

STEM Day Robotics      RG 2016 By: Drake V. and Wilson S.

On may 6th we went to the clayton high school. When we got there we were astonished by the 2016 #1 robot from the robohounds, it could go about 10mph very easily under seconds  it could shoot a ball about 7 feet into the air, and was only built in six weeks. The cost of the robot was 14,000 dollars but with the sponsor of boing they had just enough money to cover the robot.
We also reviewed the way a electric circuit would work and how it works, there were 9 sets of mind obstacles of goals to turn on lights and set up a circuit that would light up lights or turn on a motor requiring d cells and switches. The cost of the robot was 14,000 dollars but with the sponsor of boing they had just enough money to cover the robot. In conclusion the monster 180 pound robot was the most astonishing station we gone out the entire day. Would you want to build a 180 pound robot I would but what about you please comment and share what you think.

THE BEST SCHOOL DAY EVER

THE BEST SCHOOL DAY EVER
Hidden valley was A very fun day because we got to ski. I liked this because I am good and so is my friend so we could go and ski together. I also liked it because could teach some of my other friends how to ski.

First I had to go through ski school I did not like because I knew how to do everything they were doing. I got out of there as fast as I could. I was trying to find my friends but I could not see him there were so many people there but finally I saw him. I had almost missed  him after we met up we started to ski. He was so we all skied together. hidden valley was the best day I have ever had in school.

One Little Word by Wilson

One Little Word by Wilson

My one little word is health I picked health because my parents like to swim and go to the gym. I usually stay home and have nothing to do. This also helps me stay in shape instead of watching TV. I also think this is fun because I get to be with my parents. I also can see how I get better for an example last year I was very bad at swimming. This year I would like to get better at it. I want to get better at swimming because it is very good for you.
Also working out is very good for you. It is also very fun. I also like it because I have to stay in shape for hockey. The reason that I have to work out for hockey is because I do not have hockey everyday. This is why I like swimming because it is fun and it is very good for you.

wilson blog claymo

CLAYMO

Claymo is A group of students that come and meet up once A month there are about 2 kids from each grade Level [k-5]. But when you are in 5th grade you can lead that group and you are considered the claymo leader. but sometimes being A leader is hard because you have to talk in front of kids, and you have to double check to make sure that you are doing the right thing because all of the kids look up to you.
But being A leader takes A lot of work you have to trained to be A leader. This is A claymo retreat. This happens in the first or second week of school. You go and learn about teamwork and other very important rules in life.

I love claymo because I get to hear lots of ideas. Would you want to be A claymo leader?

WILSON 100 WC

looking at my dead mother that was shrinking by the minute. She was so small but still meant so much It was so weird that she was still shrieking. She died 3 months ago and I had not moved a bone since. I still did not know who did it but I did not get that something so tiny meant so much more I looked the smaller she got but the only thing in my mind was how just how could something so tiny mean so much I shrink with her until we were both dead. Dead in her room.

100 Word Challenge: Wilson

THE MURDER

It was 10 years after the murder of Wilson. I remember the night I buried him. That was so much fun but I wanted to find him. So I decided to go and try to find him. But then I realized it was down by the creek. I realized how high the river was about a week ago. But know all the water was gone so I started digging. Then I looked to the left and there it was all those bones. Then I pulled the bones out and put them in the bag and ran ha ha ha

100 word challenge: Wilson

My sister

I was at my friends  house and my sister had ran into the wall and she would not stop crying. I was trying everything to make her stop but she just wouldn’t stop crying  I was just getting more and more frustrated and the more she cried the madder I got. Finally I could not take it so I ran up stairs and got my dad. But I knew that I would be the one to blame but I could not take her any more and my dad gave me a dirty look but then I went straight to bed.

Math: Fraction Action, Fraction Friction

In math class we have been playing a game recently called Fraction Action Fraction Friction. It's a real tongue twister. Anyway the game helps us work on are fraction adding. When you play the objective is to get to 2 without going over. How you play is you each  pull a card and set it face front. Then when everybody has pulled a card you can either say fraction action which means you pull another card or you can say fraction friction which means that you don't want to pull another card because you might go over 2. You keep doing this until everyone has said fraction friction over gone over 2. Here's the deal you have to keep every card except the first one a secret. That is why I Ethan thinks it's fun but Wilson likes it because He never knows what he's going to get.

Do you think you would like to play this game?

Kindergarten Buddies

 Kindergarten Buddies
                                                                                        By: Ethan and Wilson
In fifth grade we have something called kindergarten buddies. With kindergarten buddies the teachers select a fifth grader to go with a kindergartener. We do this in Mrs.Sieve’s classroom. Once a week we go down to their classroom and help them find books to read in the morning. We also once a month go and read a few books to them. If you ever have the chance to watch them read or right you should, because they are so cute.
Last time we were with them we got to teach them about the CLAYMO promise. The CLAYMO promise stands for care lots about yourself and many others. The real CLAYMO promise is I promise to take good care of myself all the people around me and all the things around me. We also got to show them where they would be going the next day for the first CLAYMO lesson.

What would you do if you had a kindergarten buddy?

Claymo Retreat: Minefield

Minefield
By: Elaine, Lily and Wilson

On the Fifth Grade Claymo Retreat we had a activity called Minefield. In this activity we had to trust our partners to lead us through a "minefield". We were blindfolded and our partners had to lead us through, using only words. This was fun because we were at Tillis Park (and it made it even more fun!). Now we know that we are ready to be a fifth grade leader.
