I was having a picnic with my dog rose and the weather was great. Then it started spitting rain, and I took out the umbrella I packed just in case and that seemed to protect us.  But the ferocious wind blew away the umbrella and rose started to rise, higher and higher with the umbrella. The next thing that I knew was my 13 pound dog was flying in the sky like superman.  The food was not moving but my dog was.  I was scared! Than I ran as fast as i could the she said in perfect english,

"You can't catch me little girl".

I went to  bed and when I fell asleep a dream popped in my head and it was an adventure, no it was the best adventure ever.... there was a grand rollercoaster 50 feet high and an exciting loopty loop. The ride had a tiny line then I ran up, sat in the back row and I was off. I was flying and have the time of my life. Then when I came back to the station where I started  no one else was there then I came back another time no one was there again but I was glad.

I was walking to the neighborhood supermarket. I went down an alley ,there was a man and a women walking ahead of me and as they turned the corner I heard a loud shriek of terror. I ran up to see them and I saw a man baby eating a 10 foot long rat and 12 little girls tennis shoes. I grabbed my phone to call the police but I had no signal. Then when looked up I saw the cops already there. The man baby was under arrest and everything was some what back to normal just like always.

I swam across the lake. The water was green and murky. I would rather be smoking a pipe with grandpa and dad. When I got into the water a was carefully watching where I was walking so a rock would not slice my foot wide open and turn the green water as red as bloodshot eyes. When I got out into the water the strangest thing happened, a horse was swimming towards me. Its beautiful maine getting wet and green. she was amazing and wanting to come to me. Not dad and grandpa, me. The next day the horse came back, I knew she was perfect.

I finished eating half of a airplane chimichanga with the lady sitting next to me ate her half. Then when I looked out of the airplane window I felt a big glob of spicy chimichanga on my neck. I yelp then turned around to a nasty, vomit covered lady. I did the first  thing that came to mind, I punched that vomiting lady right in the mouth. The Lady punched me back. Then my stomach rumbled. Then she was also covered in barf. She yelped then swung and missed. Then I swung and missed. She started laughing.

Social Studies: Trading Cards

In fifth grade we do explorers,ships or past event projects.  During the process of these we work on trading cards.  On one side you need to write facts and information that is true about your topic. Yet on the other side it is completely different because you need to draw an illustration of what you're doing and put the name of the picture on the side or on top of the card and it needs to have.  Then when everyone started getting finished our teacher or Mrs.Barnes  made a timeline and asked us when our topic made a big change for the world then she hung them hung them on the timeline.  Will you make a trading card soon?

OLW: Self-Confidence

OLW:  Self-Confidence

In class we are doing olw which means One Little Word and the reason why we are doing this is because everyone has something they need to get better at. So you pick one word that best represents what you need to work on. When we are doing this project our teacher Mrs. Barnes wants us to make a ‘poster’ or a design for the word and then write a blog post about it.

My little word is self confidence and I am doing it because it is a way to express your self and be you. But the reason why I chose this topic is because in some areas i'm lacking self confidence. Yet when you see me you see a weird and confident person but really im not.

Sometimes I care too much about what people think of me and I dont want to be too concerned about others thinking about me. That is why I need more self confidence in my life.

Social Studies: Explorer Trading Cards

Explorer and Ship  Trading Cards

In fifth grade at glenridge we do explorers,ships or past event projects.  During the process of these we work on trading cards  on one side you need to write facts and information that is true about your topic. Yet on the other side it is completely different because you need to draw an illustration of what you're doing and put the name of the drawing on the side or on top of the card.Then when everyone started getting finished our teacher or Mrs.Barnes made a timeline and asked us when our topic made a big change for the world then she hung them hung them on the timeline for the date period when our topic was famous and well know.

When I made my trading card I did a man named Hernando De Soto and he was famous around the time 1500,on mine I said when he was born,when he died,his family and what he did when he went exploring. When I did the illustration part I had a book with me and I copied (or tried but failed to) a picture and used as my inspiration.  When I wrote his name on it I wrote it sideways.  But when everyone in our class finished they all looked really nice all together because everyone work hard on them.

Personal Narratives

PERSONAL NARRATIVE BY IZZY

In writing class we are doing personal narratives which are so much fun!

When we are writing we talk to our writing partners, mine is Kane. 

Kane has a lot of good stories and the partners are for building off each other's ideas which makes us better writers which it does work!

Personal narratives are stories about true life events that are true about ourselves which they make it easy to learn about other kids in our class!

SPACE GOSSIP

Out in space each planet in our solar system are different by....

Mercury is in love with the Sun so they are getting married tomorrow,

Venus oh where do we start with her she is a drama queen and thinks that she is too hot for all the other planets,

Earth just loves people,

Mars for some reason is always blushing,

And then on the other side of the solar system we have the big bad gassy bully planets and the sad tiny dwarf planet pluto who is a sad soul who is always getting picked on by the gassy bullys starting with Jupiter who loves messing with pluto saying that he will suck pluto into his big red tornado hole,

Saturn always try to choke pluto with big big rings,

Uranus just doesn't like pluto for some weird reason,

But then there is Neptune is actually secretly in love with the little dwarf planet pluto.

But up in space it will never change(probably)!

African Dance

        African Dance by Isabella 

 During P.E. this week we are doing African dance with a special teacher coming in and his name is Mr.Diadie. Mr.Diadie is from ivory coast which is in Africa and almost every class he quizzed us on the 54 countries in Africa and their presidents. Now the dance which  half of the steps were from last years dance but the other half of the steps were new and a little more complicated than all the others form last year and the ones before then. The dance was taking place in the gym in our school so there was lots of space to move around in.The dance was about a 3 minute long dance and the music for the dance had lots of drums and beats in it that might sound weird for us but in Africa it sounds normal to them.

The Claymo Leader Ceremony

During the claymo ceremony, at the Clayton center, we were each called up one by one at a time. When our names were called, we received our very own claymo lanyards.Then Mrs. Scott gave us our letter that our parents handwritten or typed us. Then, we were asked to spread out across the gym to open and read our letters. Then we went back to a conference room and wrote in our journals then got back on the bus and back to school.
