   STEM Day Biomeds

The biomeds was fun and disgusting, we got to touch a real sheeps heart, the sheep's heart was disgusting and revolting. The sheep heart was made out of muscle and fat, the inside of the heart was mostly made out of muscle. After that we went to measure our heart beat.

Only 2 people got their heartbeat measured. Then we went to a station that measured how many times our heart beated in 1 minute. We did some jumping jacks,and ran in place. We measured our heart beat after that. My heart beat beated 143 beats in 1 minute after I ran in place, and did some jumping jacks. After we finished with biomeds we went to our last station.

On Thursday night a lot of 5th graders from the clayton school district came to Wydown Middle School to learn about wydown. When we got to Wydown some students gave us this piece of paper, it was blue. Me and my mom went into the the theater room. We sat their for a few minutes, until a guy came up stage and started talking about what was gonna happen. He explained that the piece of paper you got at the entrance if you had a color like blue you would be in group D. Me and my mom was in group D, the guy also explained that a 8th grader is gonna be the people that you will follow. So me and my mom and a bunch of parents and kids in group D were going to the math room first. One of the math teacher’s explained what was going to happen in 6th grade math. Then we went to the language room. One of the teachers showed us a video that showed students talking about why they choose the language and why they liked it. After that we went to the social studies room the teacher explained about 6th grade social studies. Then we went to the reading/writing room. We got to sit in beanbags and pillows. The teacher showed a slide and video showing 6th graders talking. Then we went the lunch room were a bunch of people sitting at tables explaining about school clubs. Then we went to the science room and the teachers explained about science showed a video showing 6th graders working and 6th graders at field trips. After that I went home with my mom.

The Ski Trip  By Ken

Today was Thursday, 5th grade was going to Hidden Valley. I couldn’t wait it was my 1st time skiing!, Mermac was coming. So was Captain. When we got to Hidden Valley, we into a building, I sat beside Robert. The 5th graders watched a safety video. After that we went into a stinky warehouse, “It stinks” Devon commented. Then we listened to one of the staff. I went to get my ski boots. Then I had to wait in a line forever, I got my ski’s. Than I went through the stations it was lunchtime when I got to the Magic carpet. Then I went back, it took me forever to get to station7. It took me 3 tries to get to the “Falling hills” That’s what I call the skiing hills, because I falled like 6 times. I went down the small hill 2 times. I also went on the lift 2 times which was awesome! The Rope till was very fast so I fell 3 times. I went with Devon on the lift. When we had to leave I was kind of sad, because I wanted to ski way more. I wish I could stay behind and ski more. When we got back to Glenridge. I wanted to go home, but I had to go to GCC.

The cold had got right into my bones when I stepped right into the Dinosaur world. I looked behind me a Giganotosaurus was standing right behind me. It was 18 feet tall and 46 feet long it was drooling I saw its knife shaped teeth. But it turned its toward a young Argentinosaurus it was huge the Argentinosaurus was 50 feet long and 30 feet tall. The Giganotosaurus charged toward the big sauropod it killed the gentle giant. The beast feasted on the poor giant. The world went pitch black I woke up on a huge big green white bed.

   Claymo Lesson

I have enjoyed being a claymo leader because I get to teach others about peace and courage and etc. I also liked working with the younger kids. I am looking forward to future claymo lessons. Everyone rarely disrupts a claymo and I think so far everything is good and well.  The claymo lesson on  december 10th was to teach the kids to do something courageous and overcome their fears. The big idea was to make the kids do something they had never done and be courageous when their doing something they have a fear have.

I think the Tale of Despereaux was supposed to inspire the kids to do something courageous like what Despereaux did in the book. My goal for future  claymo lessons is to be more confident when I am reading my lines because I sometimes tremble on my notes. I going to make this happen by reading it more slowly and focus on the claymo lesson. My next goal is to help others. To make this happen by helping others when they need help and when they are struggling.

I wonder what the other Claymo lessons are gonna be about?

100WC, too high

The rope was too high I couldn't reach it. Monsters were running at me. Then I woke up in the ocean. A saltwater crocodile was swimming toward it bit. Then I woke in the Amazon a Jaguar came out of nowhere its eyes were gleaming red. I woke up in the dinosaur world a T.Rex was chasing me I was running for my life! A leaf was over my head it was huge! I tried to climb up it but it was too high. Then a Triceratops gobbled up the huge leaf. Then the T.rex bit me.

OW! my head aches I think I'm going to faint.......... 1 HOUR later I wake on a bed. My head is aching again this time but it doesn't  hurt at all. I look up a lego piece is falling down! And its enormous "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"  I run like crazy out of the bedroom. But my head still aches!    What has happened to me! It  starting to hurt again. Then everything went white. I was in a white room and there was a red monster and it attacked me and it bit me it hurt. Then I woke up bloody.

The big lama was breathing fire from its mouth. Its roars shook the ground it was huge!It  was 500000000 feet tall and its hooves smashed buildings flat! It was so strong it eat building and chomped up jets and missiles. It was crazy! And it was huge! But one day Godzilla came he shot out plasma beams and Llamazilla fell. Godzilla defeated Llamazilla. Llamazilla died. Godzilla dived back into the ocean. The world was at peace. But a T.Rex was and the peace was broken. But the jets took it down the peace was back or is it.

One day the ground started moving, A big alien ship landed on my house. Small aliens started attacking people, The people were screaming. Tomorrow morning the tiny aliens took over the world. How could something so tiny do this! They had trillions of little troops, they wore armor that was unbreakable and dangerous weapons. They enslaved the people that lived on earth. Yet so small but so strong, They were small but unbeatable and were 1 foot tall and were like little napoleons. They were super strong and small. They had awesome jetpacks and technology that was way more advanced.

The Army was at battle ,red blood was flowing ,rotting carcasses were on the ground. My name is Joe this war has been 20 Years long. It is WorldWar3! The USA, Germany, Russia, Africa, North Korea, South Korea and china have been at war since 4444. The Chinese troops were winning. General Mohawk was having trouble.”RETREAT!” General Mohawk Yelled. All the USA troopers retreated. I retreated too I was part of the USA Army I ran like crazy. The Chinese fired over and over again. Some US troops got shot, Then I heard the Gunshot my eye’s went pitch black.

It was a dark night we heard the howl of the Werewolf that was chasing us. We ran into the haunted graveyard bobby was shivering. The Werewolf ran back to the town and howled. "Rob what do we do? were in the haunted graveyard!" Bobby whispered. "The people said you can't get out because of the monsters!" Rob whispered back. We were the only 2 people in the graveyard but the gates close. A monster came it screeched and jumped at Bobby. Bobby screamed but the screaming was stopped. 10 years later a police found 2  skeletons. The howl sounded.

                                                       The Crying Death

She just wouldn't stop crying, she fell off the mountain and landed in a bed. Then a man came and grabbed a crowbar and started hitting her. She started crying the man ran away. The police  came the girl that had fainted. When she woke up she ran off. Then she ran into a man. The man had a gun, the girl ran off. The man started chasing her. She was running like crazy. The man was gaining on here then she got hit by a big  car. She cried and cried and cried and died.

 We picked this topic because CLAYMO is about caring lots about yourself and many others.  And we big responsibility.  We have CLAYMO in Glenridge.  We do CLAYMO to teach kids leadership skills.  We do CLAYMO once a month.

   Our first CLAYMO was fun, we taught kids to be engineers, and some ideas where crazy, some  sane, but they where good ideas.  We had a girl named Yihan and we had a good time.  My group came up with good ideas, it was a little crazy but we had a good time.  Now how was your CLAYMO?

    At the end of the Claymo retreat [3:00] all the classes saw a heart-warming video of their old teachers. The teachers had faith in us and wanted to work with us again. They told us to keep working hard.
