Really field day is a time near the end of the school year and every CLAYMO group do multiple activity that are fun and active. My favorite part is when we go out on the field and we squirt each other with bottles of water and most of the time you get drenched. Good thing we do it every year because its always the best time of the year. So what do you think about field day now. Sounds fun right? So if you want to try it out ask your teacher and I know you will have a blast.

Question: Whats your favorite part about field day?

I'm out of breath and hide behind a tree and sit there. Then before I fall asleep I start to hear footsteps so I stand up put my hands behind my head and give up and know its time for slammer for me.

100 Word Challenge: Shane

"Mommy!Daddy! it's Easter!" The little boy said jumping on the bed. The parents got up as the little boy rushed down stairs to see what he got for Easter. "Mommy Daddy look what I got!" As he held a bag of candy. Then he goes back to the basket to see what else he got and found a note. It said dear little boy. I know you love Easter so I have hidden a bunch of eggs around the house. The boy closed the letter and went on search with the help of his parents. Hours went on still searching but I couldn't find the egg.

100 Word Challenge: Shane

The bells are ringing and the crowd is howling and all I could see was a bunch of slops of orange, yellow and black. I'm out on the court with the basketball in my hands getting ready to pass. And someone slams me down and runs down the court and makes the shoot. I'm steaming with anger so I grab the ball the moment the whistle blows and run down the court with only ten seconds on the clock. So I take a deep long step with my heart beating like a drum so I throw the ball and fall. But I thought I had enough time.

Literacy: Read Aloud

            Read Aloud by Shane

Have you ever heard of a book called Blood on the River. Well If you have not read Blood on the River just sit back and relax when I began. It all starts in England with a twelve year old named Samuel. The book starts with a little legend or myth from the natives. Samuel is a thief with a dead mother and father. So he begins with really no one to trust and so he sleeps in the dump and having a really bad time but really he does not know that it was a beginning of an adventure.

Samuel soon gets in very trouble which nearly got himself killed but he ends up in an orphanage. But a few months later he was chosen by a man named Reverend Hunt to set out to sail to the new world. I don't want to give out any spoilers but just to say he ends up in the colony Jamestown and faces many new challenges and new friends.

Question: Have you ever read Blood on the River?

Algebra

                 Algebra  By:Shane
Algebra is a most hard, easy and the funniest unit I have ever had. If you didn't know Algebra is a kind of math and like any other math like 2+2=4. But instead you use numbers like A+2=4. The letters are really just of saying "I don't what A is". So really letters are just numbers that you don't know what they are.
And here's a little secret. Next week we are having a test! Don't tell anyone. Well that's all we have for this month! Tune in for next month about the next math unit.
          Question: Do you like Algebra?

Math

                   Math by Shane

Hey guys! I have a special blog entry that I hope you all enjoy. Today l'm going to tell you about math. For the past about two weeks we have been learning about multiplying and dividing fractions! But, believe it or not it can be easy and a little fun even. I know what you're thinking. How can it be fun? Well believe it or not it can! It's pretty easy to and that's also the fun of it!

The test was yesterday but it was not as fun because it was a lot harder. If you like gum. This is the test for you because Mrs. Barnes gave a piece to every single one of us! I don't know about you but it was actually pretty fun.

Do you have fun in Math too?

Shane's free choice writing: THE FIRE HERO

                The Fire Hero

Boom! In a flash, fire was shooting out of a burning hotel. Several people came out of the explosion alive. Firefighters flooded the streets, pouring as much water as they could on the blaze.
A woman screamed "My baby, my baby!" She started to get louder and louder. Then suddenly, screams and cries started coming out of the building. They could hear the baby cries for help.
A firefighter asked her, "where is your baby?"         She screamed, "he's on the top floor!" That's when the firefighter swung into action!
He ran inside the building and the raging fire, as if nothing could get in his way. The fire was blazing all around him, but then he found a safe trail up the stairs.
As soon as he got to the top floor, he pounded right through the door with his ax and broke the door. When he got inside to investigate, he found the baby inside the mother's room. The baby was still crying and screaming for help. The firefighter ran up to the baby, and right then a whole chunk of the roof caved in. He scooped up the baby just in time and started running with the baby as fast as he could out of the building.
As he went down the stairs, he found a hole he could fit through and he jumped right through it. As soon as he reached the ground, he felt a big sharp pain in his ankle, but he was running through like nothing could stop him with the baby still in his grasp.
As soon as he got out of the building, the mother started screaming and yelling and ran as fast as she could to the firefighter. The mother took her baby and thanked the firefighter. But the firefighter didn't have much time to talk. He had to be put on an ambulance and was rushed to the hospital.
Weeks later, the fire has been out for a long time, and the firefighter was on crutches. He didn't feel like a hero, even though he was one. He thought he was just doing his job and any other firefighter would do the same thing.
One day, he was presented with a medal for saving the baby. The medal didn't make him feel like a hero either, but then he saw the mother of the baby! She walked up to him and kissed him on the cheek and she said, "thank you for saving my baby." From that    moment on, the firefighter knew that he was a hero.

Fraction Math

Fraction Math
By:Shane and DJ

Fraction math was a fun activity that we did in math class.  Obviously we did fraction all day in math, and I mean everything was fraction. We played fraction games and did fraction art. Even though we did not do a shading packet today it was still fractions. Our teacher made brownies and them into 24/24. Everyone in our class got one if they wanted.  Well that's what we did for the whole day of math. It does not sound like a lot but it was.

Lanyards

By:Sammy and Shane

We were making lanyards and roleplaying for our first Claymo meeting. Lanyards, are what we were at our Claymo meetings.  It had a piece of paper inside of a little pocket that had our name on it.  We decorated it the way we liked. We also had role-plays, like speaking to the little kids about the Claymo promise. On Shane's lanyard you can see what Shane likes best is baseball, video games and spending time with family and friends. Sammy's lanyard shows  he likes climbing, snowboarding, art and having fun. The Claymo promise means take good care of yourself, all the people around you and all

the things around you. Claymo stands for care lots about yourself & many others.
