Victoria Azarenka is a professional tennis player born in the capital of Belarus. She is my tennis idol and she has a great personality. She’s also gotten a little criticism for her grunt. It’s a little loud, but not so loud. Anyways, I’ll tell you a little bit about her.

In the early spring of 2011, Vika(her nickname) thought about quitting tennis. But after a talk with her wise and noble grandma, she convinced her to keep going. So she did. At the end of the year, she was ranked number 3 in the world, on the women’s side. In the beginning of 2012, she won the Australian Open. You don’t know how important that is. The Australian Open is a huge event! It’s a grand slam. Grand slams are the biggest tournaments in tennis history! And the Australian Open was one of them! She then went on a 23 match win streak until late March that year. But 2012 was a huge year for her. She was ranked 1 for about 45 weeks that year and she finished the year at 1! Well, she already got there when she won the Aussie Open, but still! In 2013, she won the Aussie Open again! How incredible. She then got knocked off from the 1 spot by Serena Williams that year. But she still played great tennis. The Australian Open is coming to a close and I still believe she will win. Do you think she sounds like a good tennis player? Because I know she’s a good tennis player. That is why she is my tennis idol.
