Creative Writing: Billy's Christmas Trouble

     Billy's Christmas Trouble by Manny

The tradition was that I, Billy Tawny, had to write a song about Christmas on Christmas Eve and share it with the family and a few neighbors. I had a microphone. Which was cool. I had to sing into it quietly to not make so much noise through the neighborhood. I wrote a mix of fast and slow songs. Today was Christmas Eve and I was struggling with the topic.
"I've already done Santa. How about I do about kids opening presents?" I asked my mom.
"You've already done that two years ago. That was a fan favorite from our neighbors to the left. Oh, I forgot, you need to do the ideas by yourself." She smiled at me in a mean way. I groaned and went up to my room. It was 8:00 already. I've been caught up watching so many tennis matches on TV that I have not focused on the song. Once I got in the seat at my table in my bedroom, I got my pen and a piece of paper and jotted down ideas. I started to reflect over the past and see what I have done. I've done one about Santa, elves, and opening presents. I'm not sure what else there is. I feel so confused right now. What am I going to do? I have no idea.

I put my head up and found out that it was darker. Quickly I looked at my digital clock and it said it was 5:02.
"Oh no. It's already 5:00 in the morning." I whispered it loudly. I ran to the table silently and I got my pen. I was still tossing around some ideas for about 45 minutes. Then, I finally came up with the idea that I could write a song about waiting for Santa Claus to come. I got the first few lyrics down on the paper. I ended up finishing it in the next 15 minutes. Then I went back in bed to get more sleep.
Once I got up again it was 9:47. I got out of bed and went downstairs. Immediately I smelled the fresh smell of my dads french toast.
After I finished, I opened the presents with my family. It is always fun to spend time with family. After, we all went out and spoke into our microphone. People started coming out and sitiing down or leaning on a tree.
"I will now start singing a song I wrote about kids waiting for Santa. This song is called Waitin' On Santa.
