The Five Books by Manny
Hello! Have you ever wanted to make a list of your favorite books?
Well, here is my list of my favorite books so far this school year.
This book has won a Newberry medal for its great writing and plot. This book in fact was a book group book that our class used. The author writes about the same topic, which is segregation. Holding the spot at number 5, is…...Feathers by Jacqueline Woodson! I loved the book and its characters. Now, the next book is by a Newberry award winner. He has written Stargirl, Smiles to Go, Maniac Magee and Loser. This book about twins gave me insight on both characters and their thoughts. The book also has clever word play. Clinching the spot at number 4 is…...Jake and Lily by Jerry Spinelli. Have you ever read it? If you have not, read it! It is in the library. Moving on, this next book is written by a talented female, she deserves more credit for her amazing series. She is nominated for a Mark Twain award for her childrens book. If you are dying to know, I’ll tell you. Grabbing the spot at number 3 is…….The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann. I loved this book so much! I hope it wins.
These last two books are so special to me. These books tell a great story about loss, friendship, and courage. I have written a blog entry about all of these books except Feathers. The incredible book that is 2 is Guitar Notes by Mary Amato. This book touched me in a way no other book has on an emotional level. Because of this, the book is second on my favorite book list. Now, my favorite book so far of this school year is about to be announced. This book was my favorite in a series so far. The author is INCREDIBLE! She wrote a book that has mysteries desired to figure out. It’s not like boring detective stuff, but it captures me in thought so well. And once the mysteries are solved, there are battles and weird dreams and exile and fights between Clans and everything that makes a book good! That’s right. My favorite book of 5th grade is Forest of Secrets by Erin Hunter! Congrats, Forest of Secrets. Also, congrats to Erin Hunter! These are my favorite books of this school year. Maybe one day, you could make a list too.
