Winter Olympics Ceremony

Winter Olympics Ceremony by Manny

On Friday, I was watching the Winter Olympics Ceremony. They showed all these different countries that were competing in the competition, and one person was chosen to hold up the flag. Then, all the people that were competing would follow that one person. It’s good to see how many people in the Olympics are competing from each country. I like to see all these people with smiles on their faces, and then the next day, it’s game face time. If you have not seen it, I’ll talk you through ALL the things that happened.
First, there was this video about this girl and they were showing Russian words to English words. In the background, they showed familiar pictures that Russians knew. It was all about Russia. Next, this other girl was hung on this rope and she was flying everywhere. She was in 5th grade, like us! They should HUGE HUGE HUGE visual objects to tell the story of Russia. It was really cool. And then the countries and participants came to wave their flag. I don’t know what happened next because I’m writing this blog while this ceremony was still going. And there’s 2 more hours.
Anyways, that was my way of explaining the ceremony. A LOT of people were not just from Russia, of course. They were representing their own country and hoped to bring their country happiness. Every single country is unique. Where are you from and why does that make you special?

  1. I also watched about 5 min of the ceremony. It was so cool! Chilly! Freezing! Below zero! There were people leaping in the air, and balloons so colorful, and flames! I'm from Sri Lanka. Very unknown country island. No from Sri Lanka has ever been in the winter Olympics. Any guesses why? I'll give you a hint; it's near the equator. I just think that as an excuse.
