Book Review: Matched

Matched by Manny

Matched was a book by Ally Condie that I read a year ago in fourth grade. I started to read it when I needed to read science fiction for the read-one-book-from-every-genre challenge we had to do. I gave up on a book that was so boring to read Matched. I did not expect the romance the book brought in. It was such a great book and I’ll probably read it again.
Matched was this book about a 17 year old girl named Cassia. It’s pronounced like “Cashu” just so you don’t get confused. Every year, there’s this event called the Matching Ceremony where when your name would get called, you would stand up and your Match would appear on the screen. Cassia is Matched with her best friend Xander. Life is normal until when she sees a face flash on her Microcard while trying to learn a little more about her Match. She keeps it a secret and is very confused. She soon has to pick an activity to do because of the society. They do that with everyone. She sees this guy named Ky and he’s in the hiking group. Cassia and Ky soon grow a deep connection as Cassia feels guilty because of she is already Matched. Society knows about this and things get really dangerous. And scary too. I cried at the end of the book.
Now you know about this great book called Matched. A few people have read it and liked it. I’m just happy I was sucked into this amazing world of Dystopian literature that the great Ally Condie wrote.
