‘Wonder’ is an amazing book written by R.J. Palacio. It is about a ten-year-old boy, August (Auggie) that was born with a facial deformity. Although he is a normal kid like us on the inside, nobody sees the Auggie on the inside and just sees the Auggie on the outside. Auggie’s many surgeries have prevented him from going to school. But now it is fifth grade and his parents want him to go to a real school and make friends. Obviously, Auggie is nervous and doesn’t want to go. At first people are making fun of
Auggie and teasing him. He has to be brave and finally he makes good friends that stand up for him and finally people start to realize how funny and smart and nice Auggie is.
I really like this book because it teaches you to not judge a book by it’s cover. If you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down.
