Math: Counting in different bases

Counting in different bases

In math we are learning about counting in different bases. Although counting in different bases might seem difficult it is not. Let’s choose a base say base 5. You count normal until you get to the base number (5). 1,2,3,4, then you go to 10. So 1,2,3,4,10 then you keep on counting until you run into the base number again. 11,12,13,14, you skip to 20! You keep on going like that!
Us humans count in base 10. Base ten is also known as the decimal system. Here are some bases I learned how to count in.  First we learned how to count in base 6. 1,2,3,4,5,10. Then we learned how to count in base two {binary}. I,10,11,100,101,110,111. We are now learning how to count in base 16 {hexadecimal}. Now this kind of number sequence is more complicated. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F,10! Do you like working with numbers?
